MORGANITE

Introduction

Morganite can range from pink, to orange pink, to salmon pink to even peach. A resilient gem, it resists scratches better than other. It was christened after J.P. Morgan, one of the greatest financiers in history. The pastel shades of rose make it an often favoured gem for engagement and promise rings. The stone was names after celebrated American financer and gem enthusiast J.P. Morgan for his financial support for the arts and sciences, and his important gifts of gems to the American Museum of Natural History in New York and to the Museum of Natural History in Paris. Morgan was one of the most important gem collectors in the early 1900s – his collection was partly assembled by Tiffany and Company and their chief gemologist, Kunz, who proposed the name.

They say the stone acts as a catalyst for healing, love and promise and is even called the ‘crystal of the heart’ and light follows it wherever it goes. Its healing energy balances the body’s chakras and brings harmony to relationships, alleviating stress and lifestyle ailments.
