About Us

Our Story - A message from the founders

Our passion for Gemstones was first unearthed during a visit to an African stones mine in 1975, where our founders stumbled upon some unique varieties of Emeralds and rubies. At this time, gemstones were synonymous to the old-world charm or a rich man’s treasure and hadn’t still made their way into mainstream jewellery. In the decade that followed, our founders’ began their pursuit of sourcing the right gemstones that they would be able to refine and introduce to jewellery trade.

Their initial successes and breakthroughs encouraged them to formalise operations and in 1985, our company was established. One of our biggest discoveries was the African Amethyst from Kariba mines in Zambia, which we were able to refine in our local units and trade across international markets.

The challenge thereon was to continue identifying, sourcing and refining gemstones to offer a wider range and more varieties of gemstones to strengthen our foothold in an increasingly growing global gemstone market.

From 1987 to 1992, most of our focus remained on diversifying our portfolio and this meant travel to regions such as Kenya, Zambia, Tanzania, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Congo to source our gemstones first hand. The ability to do so gave us the opportunity to understand the journey of each gemstone right from its origin to its final setting in incredible jewellery pieces. More importantly, direct sourcing enabled us to foster long-term relationships with local miners, suppliers and gemstone dealers, which meant the doors were always open to us when we came looking for new varieties and high-quality.

1990

The time and effort that we invested in building a network of suppliers on the foundation of trust and integrity in the initial years of our business saw fruition in 1990, when we got into strategic alliances with gemstone procurement teams of jewellers across Thailand, Hong Kong, USA and Japan. This was a turning point for our business and we had proudly managed to establish ourselves as leaders in highly-specialised precious and semi-precious gemstones.

Another milestone was in 1992 when we discovered a mine of a rare variety of ruby in Vietnam. New discoveries were exciting to us because it enabled us to continue giving our valued partners a truly selective inventory of highest quality of gemstones.

1985

2000

As gemstones reached a new peak of popularity and jewellery designers began integrating gemstones as a symbol of luxury and elegance, gemstone dealers increasingly came to the forefront within jewellery tradeshows. We showcased our gemstone collection in the year 2000 for the very first time at the prestigious Tuscan Gem Show – an annual jewellery tradeshow taking place in Arizona, USA. The relationships we forged during our time there have been invaluable and we’ve participated every year since.

The demand for semi-precious and precious gemstones in couture jewellery to fast fashion jewellery has been an incredible driving factor for us to uncover new varieties of gemstones. Today, our portfolio includes varieties of gemstones such as Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, Spinel, Aquamarine, Tanzanite, Morganite, Tourmaline, Garnet among others. In the years leading up to the present day, the wide selection we possess means that we can play in many different colours, shapes and sizes, and offer customers pre-designed layouts of gemstones for jewellery, and this has become our specialty over time.

Our journey has been enduring, yet exciting. We are grateful to the several generations of artisans who have thrived in this grand city of Jaipur, also known as The Pink City. It is because of this pool of vastly skilled artisans, their knowledge and skill that the gem cutting business has flourished here. The skill and knowledge has been passed down to us by our forefathers and we continue to expand the business with the same spark. We welcome you to learn more about us by exploring our website or getting in touch with us.
